Motor Mogul
A digital service history and expense tracker for your daily driver 🚗💨
The problem
Car paperwork piles up: fuel receipts, MOT certificates, service invoices. Most of it ends up in the glovebox or the bin, so it’s hard to know what a car really costs, or to prove it’s been looked after when you sell.
Our answer
Scan the paperwork when you get it and Motor Mogul reads it, sorts it and files it against the right car. Costs add up on their own, and when you sell, the buyer scans a QR code to get the full history. We think catching things as they happen is what makes it stick.
Designing it
We started with a web prototype to settle the look: dark and cockpit-like, with glass cards and a UK number plate for each car. Then we rebuilt it in React Native around a small design system. Most of the work since has gone into the details, like a 3D model of your car in its real colour, a scanner that grows out of the camera button, and a slow dithered glow behind everything.
Where it’s at
It runs as a standalone app on iPhone, and we’re working towards the App Store. Screenshots soon.
